The Anchorman Award

 

Established in 1978, the Anchorman Award recognizes those Scouts who demonstrate a high level of skill completing the requirements for graduation.  Scouts who excel in the Four Goals of Aquatic School:
Leadership Development, Skill Proficiency, Instructor Training, and Time Management will earn the Anchorman Award. Anchormen are essentially graduates “with honors” from Aquatic School.  

There are NO AGE RESTRICTIONS to earn the Anchorman Award. All Scouts who attend Aquatic School are eligible to earn the Anchorman Award.   There have been many 13 and 14 year-old Scouts who have earned this prestigious honor over the years.

Anchormen receive special Aquatic School patch with a small anchor embroidered in the center to wear on their uniform.
